Embrace Autumn: Community Events, Ministry Updates & Prayer Gatherings at Burr Oak Church!
September 2025
ISSUE #009
A Note From Pastor Ben
Well the cool mornings and shorter days tell us that autumn is right around the corner! With that comes many activities in the community. I would encourage you to attend local sporting events through the school year to show your support to the school and to the kids.
Along with this our Bus Stop Ministry is starting back up. This takes place every Wednesday from 3-3:45 pm. It does
look a little different this year but it isn't anything we can't roll with! We are in need of volunteers to work the tables for this ministry. I know the hours are not ideal for all work schedules but if you can make out it would be appreciated. If you are not able to be on the front line, this ministry always needs support. You can bring individually wrapped snacks and drinks to the church any time. You can also be praying for fruit to come from this ministry by greater connections to
families in our community.
September will also have us picking back up with part 2 of our Prayer: The Breath of Life series. Over the next five weeks we will be looking at the church praying corporately together. As a reminder Tuesday nights at 7 is our prayer service. THIS IS OPEN TO EVERYONE. Please do not feel that you have to pray to be present, but do come join us.

Ministry Update
Last Sunday was a joyful morning at Burr Oak as we welcomed Derrik and Keisha Boyer into the family of believers! They shared powerful testimonies of how God has been at work in their lives and marriage, and it was a blessing to hear how His grace has guided their journey.
Moments
like this remind us of the beauty of walking together in faith—not only celebrating what God has already done but also looking forward with hope to all He will continue to do in and through their lives.
Let’s surround Derrik and Keisha with love, encouragement, and prayer as they continue growing in Christ alongside our church family.
Small Church USA
Over the weekend, Pastor Ben completed the Flippen Profile assessment with input from several members of our church family. The results pointed to three areas of growth:
Value of Time – strengthening his internal drive
Presence – the impression he leaves on others
Well-Being
– his attitude and spiritual health (the most urgent area)
The next step in the revitalization process is to define the kind of culture we want people to experience when they walk through the doors of Burr Oak—and then see how closely our current reality matches that vision.
Pastor Ben is encouraged that the very first step in this process is something Burr Oak is already deeply committed
to: PRAYER.
The church Board has received a few bids this summer for replacing the furnace before winter sets in. They're looking forward to updating it before is fails.
