A Note From Pastor Ben

Greetings! February is going to bring a couple changes to our Sunday mornings. First we are going to be starting our first of four discipleship series learning to live in power. Our focus verse this series will be Eph 3:20:21.

"20 Now to him who is able to do far more abundantly than all that we ask or think, according to the power at work within us, 21 to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, forever and ever. Amen."

With the start of this new series will bring the next change for Sunday morning. We are going to change the flow of service slightly so that we go from talking about God, to talking to God. The biggest changes to accomplish this is that we will move the sermon more toward the beginning of service and conclude with a block of corporate singing and prayer.

As we enter February in our Bible in a Year plans we have completed Genesis, Mark, and Galatians. We are now in Exodus, working through Paul's letters and still working through the Psalms. If you haven't begun this I would highly encourage you to pick up where we are.

We have also just begun our Praying Church small group study on Sunday mornings and Thursday evenings. We are going to be in this material for a good portion of this year. Please do not let that stop you from joining at any point, we would love to have you!

As our Grove Kids are working through the New City Catechism this year, I would highly recommend you pick up the NCC Devotional. This is a once a week devotional and can aid in connecting what they are working on with the rest of the church. I would encourage you to ask the kids what they are learning.

Finally, to further your ability to disciple I would also encourage you to attend the Annual Tri-State CBC Conference coming up in April that will be looking at how heart change is real change. The keynote speaker this year is Pastor Brad Bigney, author of Gospel Treason. You can find a link on our website with more information regarding the conference.

Ministry Update

The ACTS 10:13 group events are open to all men beyond high school! The idea is to raise men up as leaders by growing in Christian character and service. This shall be accomplished through the study of God’s word, service to others, and the continual care for self (physically, emotionally, spiritually).

“Equipping today’s men to be leaders, providers, and protectors, within their homes and communities for the advancement of the Gospel.”

Connect – Bringing men together to encourage and mentor one another in their walks with Christ (Ecc 4:12; Heb 10:24-25).
Disciple – Encouraging men to grow in one mind and accord for the betterment of their homes and community (Phil 2:1-5; Col 1:28-29; Eph 4:11-16)
Challenge – To continue in their growth in Christ through the renewal of their minds and the strengthening of the bodies (Rom 12:2; 1 Tim 4:8)
Transform – By starting with ourselves, we can see transformation within our homes and community (2 Cor 3:17-18; 1 Cor 13:1-12; 1 John 3:2)

Women's Banquet

You are invited to a meaningful evening created just for women—a time to refresh your spirit, strengthen your faith, and connect with other women in our church community. This special gathering will include a delicious meal, prepared and served by the men of our church alongside a local Trail Life group, as we come together in fellowship and prayer.

Grace and Grit: Women Empowered Through Prayer

As women, we are called to live with both grace and strength. Proverbs 31 reveals the beauty of a life led with wisdom, kindness, and faith, while Judges 4 reminds us of the courage and perseverance required to step boldly into God’s calling.

We would love for you to join us for this women’s-only event and experience the joy of community, faith, and uplifting conversation.

January Financial Report:

Income: $8104.50
Expenses: $9545.60

This year we have a couple big maintenance items we plan to accomplish.

We plan to refresh our foyer area and fellowship hall with a new coat of paint and the removal of the popcorn ceiling.

It is also our goal in 2025 to replace both fuel oil furnaces with more efficient propane furnaces and to update the heat pump/ac unit for the sanctuary.
